Chris Picone - Owner
I was born in 1971 in what is said to be the most engineered city in the world: Wellington, New Zealand.
I grew up with a healthy appreciation of the outdoors and a passion to create.
As a newly qualified carpenter journeyman I found myself drawn to Sydney at a young age for work and a chance to better my craft as a well as completing my builders licence.
From here I went on to working for myself as a sole trader.
After much time in the residential and commercial sector I moved with my wife, Rosie to the Whitsundays, where I volunteered for years in the local SES and worked on projects like "Qualia"(a renown 6 star resort).
Then a top tier construction "Peppers Resort" as a structural supervisor where I spent a lot of time liaising with engineers, fortifying buildings in the heart of cyclone country central Queensland.
As this project wound down I was kept on as active first aide and safety officer.
Six years ago I moved to Perth with Rosie and our pet Lab, Oscar. I was excited about new work opportunities. Now I'm enjoying the role as proud father of new born daughter Maya. Due to my background covering a wide range of activities stemming from carpentry I recently found myself as a hands on Site Manager for Herald Build on one of their exclusive apartment blocks in Floret. On completion of that project I decided to open Build Strut.
